About one week before the game, teams were told to meet on Saturday morning at 9:30am at Twin Pines Park in Belmont. They were told they would need the following items:

• AAA Maps (Northern Border: Petaluma, Eastern Border: Mt. Diablo, Southern Border: Monterey)
• AAA California Regional Series San Francisco Bay Map
• Flash Player 6
• Quicktime Player
• protractor
• ruler
• fire (more like a lighter, less like a blow torch)
• hammer
• screwdriver
• scissors

They were also told that the game would be more enjoyable if they watched the movie, The Goonies, before playing. But that no specific knowledge from the movie was required to complete any of the clues.

When teams arrived at Twin Pines Park, they found us waiting for them. We told teams how to contact us throughout the weekend, went over a few ground rules, and handed out a goodies bag and the first clue.
